Thank you, PLDA of Suffolk County

The Public Library Directors’ Association has again stepped up with a $5000 donation to NY4BL PAC.  The PLDA of Suffolk County has historically been a wonderful supporter of our efforts to help libraries be heard in Albany.

Thank you!

NY4BL Cocktail Party!

Wednesday, November 8th, 5 pm – 7 pm, Saratoga Hilton Suite  # 558.   As a PAC supporter, you’re invited to attend this once a year event. Meet up with old friends, make new ones.

Bring friends! It’s the NY4BL’s way of thanking those of you who have supported the PAC throughout the year. Very casual! Stop by to say “hello”

Come Visit Us at Our NY4BL Booth

We will be staffing our NY4BL Booth in the Exhibition Hall.  Stop by to find out about becoming a Defender of Libraries, or to volunteer to help with some of our upcoming events.  While you’re there, have your picture taken with our Defender of Libraries cutout or snag a custom designed t-shirt.

Sing Sing Sing!

Our annual Karaoke Party will be Friday, November 10, at the Parting Glass in downtown Saratoga.  Best times are absolutely guaranteed!  Tickets here:

Learn More About the NY4BL: Politics Required!

Thursday, November 9, 4:15 pm:  Steering Committee members Lauren Moore and Cassie Guthrie will talk about NYLA, New Yorkers for Better Libraries PAC, and librarians across the state are working from within the political system to make sure libraries are a priority to our state lawmakers.  And if you’re not already engaged politically to ensure the future of libraries, consider this your call to arms. If New York’s libraries are to remain viable, we all need to be political actors.

Thank you, Nassau Library Directors!

Congratulations and thanks to the Nassau County Library Directors for their successful June 8th NY4BL fundraiser, Trivia Night at the Freeport Yacht Club.  This group has conducted fundraisers for the New Yorkers for Better Libraries for several consecutive years, and their creativity and hard work are greatly appreciated.
