2025 Annual Report

The New Yorkers for Better Libraries PAC mission is to assist in the legislative advocacy process by financially supporting legislators who are committed to helping libraries, and to make sure that our spokespeople are heard in all the varying venues that Albany offers.

The importance of library advocates being seen and heard has never been so evident. Because of library advocates’ efforts, the 2025 budget recommended by the Governor included prior year’s increases, a first in many years, and something for which we are very grateful. The modest increase in state aid to libraries affirmed by the state legislature is greatly appreciated. We now are eager to celebrate the passage of the NYS Freedom to Read Act, which we believe the Governor will sign soon.
