THE SALEM WITCH TRIALS
“The devil came to me and bid me serve him.” These words of confession sparked the Salem Witch Trials of 1692.
Join historian Maya Rook and New Yorkers for Better Libraries for an exploration of this fascinating time in American history, and a discussion of how the story of Salem and portrayal of witches has developed over the past three centuries.
Tickets are $25 each and include 1 draft beer or cider ticket, light hors d’oeuvres and a donation to New Yorkers for Better Libraries. Cash bar and additional food options for purchase will be available throughout event.

Nassau Libraries held its annual NY4BL fundraiser at Domenico’s Restaurant on May 16th. An excellent turnout heard Clive Young speak on the topic “Shelf Indulgence: Libraries in Pop Culture”. The event raised over $12,000 for the NY4BL, which will be used to further the cause of libraries among decision-makers in Albany. Another great job by our wonderful friends in Nassau County!

The Directors of the Nassau County public libraries have again organized a very successful fundraiser on behalf of the New Yorkers for Better Libraries PAC.
The event occurred on May 22 at Domenico’s in Levittown, and raised over $10,000 on our behalf. We are extremely grateful for the commitment and hard work the Nassau library community has demonstrated for the NY4BL.
